Qualified Conductors run the programs
and their four-year degree is recognised by the International Petö
Institute. The Conductors are responsible for planning,
developing, facilitating and running the programs.
Rita
Schwerlichovszky
Rita completed her 4-year study
in 1990 at the International Petö Institute in Budapest,
Hungary, training as a Conductor. She has experience
working with children in different age groups, and
adults with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease,
and, Stroke and Head injuries. In 1986 she received
a diploma as a pre-school teacher in Hungary.
Rita is responsible for the coordination
of the Early Development Unit at the ING Centre for Conductive
Education. With her years of experience teaching young
children she provides a relaxed and stimulating learning
environment for her students. Families learn how to
apply information and skills in their own family's
daily routines and are encouraged on ways to nurture
and improve their child's overall development.
Gabriel
Pinter
Gabriel is the Conductor for the
Intermediate and Teenage Program teaching new everyday life skills
to small groups of students aged 6-18 years. Gabriel completed his
studies at the International Petö Institute in Budapest,
Hungary in 1990. During his 4 years, theoretical and
practical training was given that included, anatomy,
neurology, neuroanatomy, psychology, as well as special
education theories, speech therapy and orthopaedics.
Practical experience was gained from working with
a variety of groups of children and adults who have
physical disabilities.
Since moving to Australia he has
worked at the Royal Deaf and Blind Institute at North
Rocks, at the Support Unit of Roselea Public School
at Carlingford as well as running his own private
practice. He was involved in the Managment Committee
that helped to establish the ING Centre for Conductive
Education and also organised the 'Camp for Independence'
with the Rotary Club of Pittwater.
